Maybe on a mission, we could visit future Otto but our on-screen lead Otto would always stay the same age.

Thanks alot! Uhhhh, what inspired me was a love of making a family show. I had a series in development at Disney about a family of superheroes (Dad could stretch, mom was strong, son had speed and daughter created fire) but was cut short once Pixar announced The Incredibles. I went to write on Time Squad for CN and during that time was given a computer with Final Draft to write on but it also had Photoshop which I started doodling in and started drawing the characters that would eventually become The X’s. And The Y’s would’ve returned if we’d been given another season. Loved that family and the actors who played them.

Stephen Hillenberg was a monster talent. I didn’t know him well but had the pleasure of watching the Spongebob pilot at a tiki-themed premiere party inside a tiny office inside Nick’s North Hollywood space a million years ago. None of us there could have predicted what an impact that giddy animated sponge would have later. He showed that a series creator could build a global empire while still being kind and stand by his beliefs. The world has lost a true artist.

TBH the show has never been available officially on DVD/VOD etc so the fact that people still care is awesome. We worked hard on it so all the love is great.
